Does your mass produced mayo have soybean oil as the #1 ingredient? That would explain a lot

Rapeseed oil actually, and we do add some mustard seed for flavor

Eww, canola oil is actually far worse for you than soybean oil. You can leave canola oil outside for a month and bugs will never land in it, it can't grow mold and it looks exactly the same. It basically concgeals your blood after you eat it and causes your organs to function slow down. Avoid for reals.

Edit: canola oil is rapeseed oil because people in the US thought naming a "vegetable oil" after a deadly plant was a bad idea
