If I'm feeling a bit sluggish, and end up sleeping through the day, I feel like shite the entire day.

If I'm feeling a bit sluggish, and think, "Alright, let's go do X," I feel right as rain after an hour.

Why?

It's possible that if you have an inconsistent sleep schedule that you are going against your natural circadian rhythm, which can in theory throw you off like that. I know I have felt similar at times where I feel like shit if I oversleep, stay in bed too long, go to sleep/wake on an irregular basis, etc.

You're sleeping too much, trying sleeping a little less. You need to find the amount that suits your body. Some people it's 8, some 6 (mine is closer to this), or anywhere in between. I had a friend through my teens who was good with 4 per night and had no adverse effects.

It could be a lot of things. On possibility is that you're a little depressed, not much, just a little. When you yield to it, it feels worse. When you fight it off, it feels better.

Might be nutrition related. Maybe get some multivitamins or a have a protein shake a couple times a week.
