After hearing about this latest school shooting I stopped by a few other forums to read up and get details. The usual lies and half-truths were most of what I found. The "left" screaming nazi, the "right" chanting antifa, and so on.

When I contrast that to Phuks, I realize why I like this place so much. Sure its nice to get away from the hate, listen to some music, and engage in the occasional discussion that slips through the other posts.

What I really love about this place is that it doesn't have the same political spam other places do. I can go a whole day here without reading about the sins of some president, or seeing the name of some made-up boogeyman political alliance.

Maybe its because you guys are more level headed, or maybe its because Phuks is too small to attract the shills. Who knows. All I know is I like the vibe here.

Much love, you fucking weirdos <3

Nice post. Yes, it's a nice place to just relax and say a few things without having to defend being white/not being white, being left/right leaning etc etc. Just come and chill, read a couple of articles and go.

It was a false flag, they're trying to take our guns reeeeee

But yeah, I like that too. I think it is partially to do with the size of the userbase.

I mean they are trying to take my guns away though... :( and while I'll be sure to have enough boating accidents and legally unregistered firearms about by the time that happens it does still piss me off. Majority of the nation doesn't want gun control... Let's replace them w/ groups that vote welfare over guns 99% of the time.

But yeah I agree, all the "everything's a false flaggers" and Sandy Hook conspiracists wackos can suck my left one.

Sometimes I wonder if the extreme interpretation of gun rights might actually backfire and wind up being what enables them to take all the guns.

What I mean is that from an outside view it looks like guns in the US are an 'all or nothing' mindset. Most of the vocal gun rights activism opposes all or most regulation, as a default stance. It is not possible to have effective gun laws in a neighboring region to one with lax laws.
This can lead to thinking that if you don't ban them all, everywhere, you haven't restricted them at all.

It seems to be a situation that is destined to polarize itself.

Here, we have federal level restrictions that are tighter than some states, but looser than others.
There is little to no pressure to change them in any direction. I've often wondered if giving federal jurisdiction would help in the south. I don't see how compromise can be reached in another way.

For the record, I'm not trying to say 'Canada is better'. We never had to deal with the issue in the same way, so it's just different.

We are better though.

I agree this place has the middle ground I think politics desperately needs.

I wanted to rant about the school shooting and gun control (as in "It's already illegal to bring a gun onto a school campus so gun control obviously fails") but then I realized that the whole back and forth argument is old to the point that very few people truly, honestly care anymore.

But, yeah. It's nice.

There is nothing to say about this latest shooting we don't all know already.

This kid was deliberate in his actions. Went straight to art class and waited. Took out 8 people with a shotgun and revolver...he knew what he was doing and then let himself be taken alive.

Read more into it and you will see how he was beraded by staff and students online with Facebook and how coaches humalited him about how he smelled after class and shit.

No this kid was about retaliation and got it he thinks. This is what bully behavior has come too now. Push a person so far they lash out and then everyone wants to blame something else.

The shooter was a talking parrot that was described as "quiet" by classmates.

I guess we just give zero pucks about petty politics here :p

Made an account just to respond,

Undoubtedly Phuks is that port in the storm at this time. I was in the furry fandom for some time, but politics finally drove me out after people getting banned on a now irrelevant community site for having political opinions (no 'actions' on their part) the site admin and vindictive people who egged the admin constantly didn't like.

There was (is?) one goat who came here a little while ago and tried to bully everybody into listening to him scream the "truth." He wasn't well-received. Since I blocked him I don't know if he's here still, and I haven't seen his ilk swarming the place, so it's not just the size of the userbase here, it's the quality.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't about the shooting at all.

I was thinking about poems I could write to romance my way into your butthole.

“Into your sweet cornhole,”

He said with a wide grin,

“is where I’ll plant my pole.”

Just you all wait and see,

I say, for that begin,

To see his plan made whole.
