It is cruel to kill an animal that doesn't want to die. It is unnecessary cruelty. Vegan diets are nutritionally adequate

Why do you answer questions with questions? I've answered you up till now, but my list of unanswered questions is growing.
needlessly kill
Suggestive phrasing, and I've already explained a few of the many reasons to kill.
If yes, there must be some differences between animals and humans that allows for this distinction
I think I already asked you about this, and am still waiting for your answer. But yes, there is a difference between human and animal life. Again I ask if you agree. I'll warn you though, I'm setting a trap here.
Apply these traits back onto a human context
If we agree that humans and animals are not the same, then that is not a rational thing to do.
as the semantics
Another word you don't understand? It's not semantics, it's incorrect usage of the word. Genocide is about destruction, usually annihilation. Slaughter is a harvest, and does not lead to destruction.
That is an incorrect word for the situation. Same with holocaust. Don't take my word for it, check google, like you already should have.
If it's not wrong to needlessly kill animals, is it wrong to needlessly kill humans? If yes, there must be some differences between animals and humans that allows for this distinction. Apply these traits back onto a human context, is it okay to now kill that human?
And, as far as the semantics of 'genocide' go, name the trait that makes it a genocide in the human context but not in the animal context. Or just replace it with the word 'holocaust': https://duckduckgo.com/?q=define%3Aholocaust&t=brave&ia=definition Holocaust survivors call it a holocaust: http://www.gary-tv.com/garymain/opinions/quotes/
