It is cruel to kill an animal that doesn't want to die. It is unnecessary cruelty. Vegan diets are nutritionally adequate

If it's not wrong to needlessly kill animals, is it wrong to needlessly kill humans? If yes, there must be some differences between animals and humans that allows for this distinction. Apply these traits back onto a human context, is it okay to now kill that human?
And, as far as the semantics of 'genocide' go, name the trait that makes it a genocide in the human context but not in the animal context. Or just replace it with the word 'holocaust': https://duckduckgo.com/?q=define%3Aholocaust&t=brave&ia=definition Holocaust survivors call it a holocaust: http://www.gary-tv.com/garymain/opinions/quotes/
Why do you answer questions with questions? I've answered you up till now, but my list of unanswered questions is growing.
needlessly kill
Suggestive phrasing, and I've already explained a few of the many reasons to kill.
If yes, there must be some differences between animals and humans that allows for this distinction
I think I already asked you about this, and am still waiting for your answer. But yes, there is a difference between human and animal life. Again I ask if you agree. I'll warn you though, I'm setting a trap here.
Apply these traits back onto a human context
If we agree that humans and animals are not the same, then that is not a rational thing to do.
as the semantics
Another word you don't understand? It's not semantics, it's incorrect usage of the word. Genocide is about destruction, usually annihilation. Slaughter is a harvest, and does not lead to destruction.
That is an incorrect word for the situation. Same with holocaust. Don't take my word for it, check google, like you already should have.
That's not what the word genocide means.
You're right. I don't.
I've often pulled the trigger, or reeled in the hook myself. If you don't understand how I can still be an animal lover, I'm going to make a guess about you:
You didn't grow up around animals (that weren't pets). If you think a farmer is 'cruel' and doesn't respect his livestock, or that nature is like a Disney movie, you have been misled.
I think you've lead a sheltered life and have been disconnected from nature. You don't seem to have much knowledge about, or respect for it.
Everything in nature has a purpose, and is a part of the life cycle. It starts small, microbes. It works it's way up, each transition leads to a higher order.
Billions of years of evolution, of an interconnected and complex relationship between the life forms, that has produced us, a space faring intelligence.
That's some epic level magic. Who need god when we're a part of something like that.
Animals have purpose, value, and nobility. If you got your way, they would lose it all, and mostly go extinct.
It serves many purposes. Just because it is possible to survive on a vegan diet, does not mean that won't cause harm in a long list of other ways. It will harm the animals most of all, will significantly lower human health, and impact child development.
It would be incredibly irresponsible and misguided.
You keep talking as if you had the moral high ground, but I don't think you do. I'll ask again what makes you think that it is 'cruel' to butcher an animal?
I've explained a few of the ways that your idea would have an adverse effect on all, so if there is a 'moral' choice, it would not be veganism.
