In my experience most people either end up very similar to the type of people their parents were, or their opposites.
My daughter wasn't much like me when she was young. She was well behaved, good tempered, and intelligent. When she was a teen she rebelled against my legacy by getting good grades and not using drugs, and not getting arrested.
I'm not sure where she learned that kind of behaviour, but I can assure you it wasn't me.
Now that she's an adult, she is beginning to come around. Since university she has become less restrained. A touch of the wild, but fortunately not too much.
So what about your offspring? Are they like you or are they your nemesis?
If you don't have kits yet, are you like your parents?
Myself ... I don't see myself as much like either parent. I see them in my brothers and sisters, a little bit here and a little bit there. But in the end, I'm sure I have many traits of both that I just don't see. I was never really that close to either, being the oldest, I rebelled against everything - LOL - but never went too far to the dark side.
My two adult daughters. One is a lot like me, the other a lot like her mother. Both have elements of both that are obvious. Hey, they turned out okay, so I can't complain. But otherwise a hard question to answer. But a good question to think on.
