First few are about cameras or tracking apps even and as a parent I can kinda relate.

Thing is that rather than empathy they turn to rebellion and comments encourage this.

Maybe because I am getting older I tend to review both sides before I make a decision, but Reddit is a good way to see the demographic of 15 to 30 year olds and prediction of behavior.

It's almost like going to a mall and watching people trying to predict behavior. Something the wife and I used to do often, but now we just watch LivePD and laugh.

Anyways just look at how these threads degenerate into a hug box.

I've skimmed through that sub before, and tbh don't understand why you would be empathetic towards some of the people in those posts, they are batshit insane.

I am saying empathy on the parents behalf....not the fucks that made the post.

It's obvious that 99% of them have issues that can only be fixed with heavy metals like lithium

It was a weird moment when I realized that I made the step from child to parent. If it were 7 years ago I'd have been more sympathetic to the posters, but now I'm more sympathetic to the parents. It's a difference of understanding intent.

Not with 20 year olds. I get wanting to keep an eye on your teenagers even, but once they are legal adults, and especially if they don't even live in your house anymore, you can't expect them to submit to surveillance like this.

It all depends on the situation, I can't comment that specific without details.

Yeah very much so.

It's extremely telling how the comments show lack of parental concern, and see it as control instead. If you read the comments you see the OP is under some sort of mental care in many cases.

And I'm sure they blame it on their parents.

Well of course they do. Much like Reddit can't blame anyone but themselves for whatever is the topic of Fox news for the day.

That site has become a petri dish of epic training and moderation technique.

Seriously it is as if an account becomes a somewhat louder voice in that place and then a new name has to prove they are of bad influence.

Reddit is no different. They do the same thing over and over again. Once upon a time I was very good friends with an actual Reddit admin. Red name and all.

Pretty good guy that spent a few days at my house even. Well he and I talked about Reddit. He told me that Reddit is never to be taken with any serious influence as there is only manipulation.

Voat is no different and eventually this place will go the same way. It's just how this shit works.

See there is a group of people online that are a conglomerate of sorts. They started back with WoW. These people play the looooong game.

They gather influence and information and use that to blackmail their way into control. People are afraid of social acceptance or lack their of even.

Well......not me because one of them mother fuckers wanted to play a game with me when I bucked the system. They said they would rape my son and kill my wife.

As you know I didn't take that well. I went John Wick on this fucker and used the screen name to back trace who they were. It was a rare name and found them on steam as you would with most college kids.

Well I had a crosshair on them and took a picture. Sent it to their Reddit user name with another picture of the car they drove, the door of their room, and of them in class.

Then I posted to the moderation team of subreddit drama the same. I said that next time I won't go after the one that comes after me. I will come for the closest one to where I am at the specific time it occurs. Which from my research is these locations.

I sent the mods the floor plans of the homes they lived in with who the mortgage was drawn to. All of this info was public record by the way.

Any mention of my name within their subreddit was immediately deleted and I was banned from 321 subs.

I gave all my info to police where this kid lived too and they were prosecuted. Ruined a 19yo boys life and I ain't sorry.

Thing is that this is how you fight them. You take away their anonymous ability and they fucking run.

Notice how you have done this with me...twice now. Recently at the Walmart and again you did it where I lived in PA. It didn't frighten me. Because I find what you do pretty cool.
