Hard to choose.... roast/scalloped/mashed potatoes are all pretty fantastic when done right.

Edit: I assume Moussaka is cheating...

Mashed and gravy is the best but the gravy situation can be sketchy.

Good call with scalloped. It's all there from the get go and you don't have to hope for the gravy to come through.

Fire up charcoal grill, settle coals at 400*. Drench russet potato in olive oil, then coat in kosher salt. Bake for 1 hour.

Baked potato so good you can eat the whole thing with a fork, skin and all.

Oil and kosher salt on the skin is the way to go for bakers, can't beat that crispy, salty goodness.

I only tried that wrapped in foil.

Over charcoal would be even better I bet.

I'll go with twice baked. It's so hard to choose and with those you get two for one!

I don't know if this would count but if it does corned beef hash is amazing.

corned beef hash done right ... I consider it an argument for the existence of God

There is a family restaurant in our area that has the best, even though it is somewhat of a drive to hit for breakfast it is worth it.
