Yep. Day three was the hump, now it's just an inconvenience time-wise. X is a reasonable number for me - not the same as your 10 set daily ordeal, or trying to get them done around weight training like @GoatsShadow.
I'm not in great shape myself, when I was doing this previously I was doing five sets of 10 in the morning and 10 when I got the chance through the work day. Welcome aboard and hey even if it's five 20 times it's 100 more than you did yesterday.

You should do the same using a comment under your post, so people can insult you when you skip days (include the actual number of pushups if you like). I think public humiliation/accountability is supposed to be a part of this sort of thing.
X pushups in five sets starting Jan 16. Days done:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6; 7, 8, 9, 10,
X pushups in four sets:
11, 12, 13; 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20; 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27; 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34; 35, 36
Forgot to do my last set of X/10 pushups on February 21.
