A day is a long time... but for those who can only do five at a time, 20 daily pushups would be more realistic.

Maybe, maybe not... read the post text^ (though I did some before I posted). I'll do X pushups a day, you can imagine what that number is.
If I could do about 10 good pushups in a row, I'd be doing about 50 a day and making sure my technique is perfect. Keeping it happening daily is more important than the number you start with. You can always increase the number in a month or two when you get stronger.
