Stephen Speaks ... not sure why, his stuff is just enjoyable to me.
The Order Of Israfel: A Swedish doom metal band reminiscent of Black Sabbath
I especially like the elements of gypsy music, guitar tone, riffs, and drumming.
I am a huge fan of Streetlight Manifesto. Their live shows are fucking phenomenal and their music is unique.

I know he might not be that unknown, but even if he's not your style, gotta respect the songwriting.
Not only is this album a technical achievement of instrumental mastery, but the lyrics are incredibly relevant and insightful, to today's world. I call few things, "beautiful". This album, absolutely is.

How is Megadeth lesser known? I know the name and I'm not even remotely a metal fan.
The band isn't, but the album is relatively off the charts of most metalheads.
Deux Furieuses 2 piece, not bad for girls.
FKA Twigs.
One of the few hip-hop artists I enjoy (most of my music is punk and prog rock,) there's just something I happen to like about her brand of avant-gardeness. I'll also say she's the only artist I've found who has successfully made a song sound sexy. As in, if you took the lyrics away it'd still be sexy.
Also, Lucero. Reason: They are raw and real as fuck.
Martha.
Local pop punk band. I'd never heard of them before until I went to see RVIVR when they played here a few years ago, they were the supporting band. They blew me away in a room with no stage in front of 40 people. I can't quite describe why I love them so much, it's sort of like they just summarise the feeling of what it's like to live around here in their vocals and sound.
