It is colorized, so that does make it look a little off.
But it is insane to really consider. A thousand pounds or more of aircraft slamming into 1-4 inches of hardened steel belt armor. You can actually see a dent where the ships armor buckled a bit. I am quite surprised the engine didn't create more of a crater. But I suppose when your built for repelling naval artillery, a pesky little wooden aircraft isn't gonna do much.
