Tibetan mandala's are such intricate beauties. The monks will spend hours, days even pouring their energy into these designs. Upon completion, the mandala is swiftly destroyed in a poetic movement that is meant to symbolize the temporal nature of all existence.

They will infuse their mandalas with chants and prayers, often for a good harvest or for good tidings in the coming year. Afterward it is ceremonially poured into a local river or scattered into the winds.
