I can't stop playing Running With Rifles and I need something else to play before I go insane. I finished Owlboy recently, and whilst the art and soundtrack are both stunning, the gameplay is nothing special.

As far as new releases go, the only thing I can see myself playing is the new Walking Dead Telltale game. But I'm going to wait until all the episodes are out because having to stop and start all the time infuriates me.

I have been playing Squad and Arma 3.

Lately I have really started to like the difficulty of Squad and Arma.

[–] THC 3 points (+3|-0)

Fuck yeah ArmA 3 is fucking awesome, I believe I have just shy of 1100 hours in that game over the years. But I stopped playing it about 6 months ago due to lack of friends who play it. I've got high expectations for whenever 4 comes out.

How is Squad? I love all of the Arma games but one of the downsides to Arma is it feels very sandboxy. Unless you are willing to download and install a lot of stuff, it does not have enough content.

It is good.

Compared to Arma it is a lot more infantry focused and squad based

I just got Total War: Warhammer and it's alright. Also, I have over 900 hours in Banished--- if you want to be a cruel God, it's the way to go.

Total war warhammer couldn't keep my interest. The campaign was....meh at best. @Boukert probably agrees with that. I want to go back and play more of it on multiplayer at some point, but Path of Exile and Subnautica call to me.

[–] Boukert 1 points (+1|-0)

Yeah I agree on Total war. The campaign map is shit and the novelty wears off from the battles. That and the obvious milking with the new DLC's makes it a negative for me.

Base price 60 euro's and now 19,90 for each new race.....

Waiting impatiently for the next CrossCode update. The last one 2.5 weeks ago was fucking fantastic with the shock dungeon. Best game I've played in a while even though version 1.0 isn't slated til September-ish and the story is still very incomplete (they're saving that til near release).

Other than that, Path of Exile has filled my old D2 fix. I'm taking that game slow because it's not everyday a superior D2 game comes around.

I think I might get back into Q3RA or CS.

CrossCode is the shit. I stopped playing at the second dungeon on the v0.8 release because I want to play the full release. The devs said that there will be more stuff added to the world, not just the storyline. They're going to make the world more crowded and have more people running from place to place, with different NPC encounters.

I think that actually excites me more than the storyline, because they already managed to make the game feel like an MMO world. Are you sure the full release is September? They said they were aiming for Q1/2 2017.

Did you try Grim Dawn? Looks similar to POA but my potato can't handle it unfortunately.

They estimated sometime between June and September, with June technically being Q2 still. I'm assuming it will take the later path given how much story still needs implemented.

When I emailed the devs they said that a lot of the story has already been completed. They're holding back a lot of the storyline from the current versions because they don't want to have any spoilers in the game before the full version is released. I am guessing a large part of the stuff they need to do for the game is side quests/NPC encounters/items etc. rather than the main storyline.

I hope they don't rush it too, because I have fallen in love with it already.

Depends on what you like; but just to frankly answer what I've been playing.

Sticking with Steam, I have been playing 7 Days to Die, which is a zombie horde survival crafting game (would love someone to play with, although I don't have much time), Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII, so far a worthy installment to a strategy/RPG series I have loved for many years - this thirteenth game marked the series' 30th anniversary. I've also been playing Nobunaga's Ambition - Sphere of Influence, another Koei strategy game, this time located during the warring states period in Japan. I like Koei's strategy games, although they're not always the best.

Also replaying Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which I've never beaten, although I like it a lot. Also Tyranny, from Paradox, which is a Baldur's Gate-style RPG.

I also have tabletop simulator, so feel free to hit me up on there if you like. I'll also scrub around with you on DOTA 2 if you want.

[–] PMYA [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

Its funny you mentioned Nobunaga's Ambition. I recently found my copy of Kessen III (another Koei game about Nobunaga) on PS2 and have been playing through it again. It was one of the first strategy games I played, and it came out around the same time as Rome Total War. Both of those games made me start looking deeper into the genre.

I can't really play online due to my internet. Jobes and Boukert both play Dota I think, you should ask them.

I remember Kessen III! I actually didn't like how it handled that much, and preferred Kessen II (although I preferred Kessen I before that). They got progressively worse. :p Kessen II's story was basically a complete fabrication (OK, not complete, but holy shit they took some liberties), although the domestic/military planning phase things were fun. Although loading screens killed it, too many pauses to load, like just switching from unit to unit; or there would be a interruption in what you're doing to have two character whose units are about to fight say something to each other, and then you get the fade and another 2-3 second loading time. But it's otherwise fun.

My friend Mark is very big into the Total War franchise; I think he's played all of them since Rome. I remember Medieval I, where you can force your family to engage in incest and order your own assassination. Those were the days.

I can't really play online due to my internet. Jobes and Boukert both play Dota I think, you should ask them.

I've literally never played with or against other people yet though. I am not kidding when I say "scrub it up". But if I find the time, I'll ask. Thanks.

There are an ungodly amount of cutscenes in Kessen. Most of them offer no new information at all, and some of them are exactly the same with a different voiceover. Another thing that bugs me is your unit placement at the beginning of the battle makes no difference whatsoever to how the battle will pan out. Aside from that, it's a decent PS2 game.

Total War is probably my most played franchise aside from GTA or FIFA. There are a lot of cool games that have come from it too. If you have the time, look up Ultimate General Gettysburg. It's a Total War style game about the American civil war made by a guy who was one of the top modders for the early Total War games.

Tiger Knight (shit is dope), BF1 (not so much lately), Rust (just got it)

[–] PMYA [OP] 2 points (+2|-0)

Is Tiger Knight that free to play game that's kind of like Mount and Blade? I think I recommended that to @BioAcid a while ago.

I wouldn't mind trying Rust out but I have shit internet so can't really play online.

[–] THC 2 points (+2|-0)

Yeah, it's more like a modern Dynasty Warriors. Third person samurai and you also have 20+ men to command into formations and fight with you. So 10 real players in a map and 200+npc's at their command. It's way fun with a steep learning curve.

I don't have good internet either, only 6 down 1 up.

[–] PMYA [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

You should keep an eye out for this. It will probably have a campaign mode like the previous games where you can conquer settlements on a big map and slowly gain more soldiers as you go.

[–] Amy 2 points (+2|-0)

Been playing The Long Dark recently. It's beautiful; amazing if you like survival games.

Other than that, Arma 3 is my most played game, followed by BF4. BF1 has been pretty good so far but I'm not thrilled with HC (which is all I play). BFBC2 gets a lot of time, too.

[–] PMYA [OP] 2 points (+2|-0)

Pssst @THC, play Arma with Amy.

I gave The Long Dark a pass because I kind of ignore the entire survival genre now due to there being so many terrible survival games.

[–] Amy 1 points (+1|-0)

Eh, I can understand that. There has been an abundance of repulsive survival games (DayZ Standalone or NMS, anyone?).

However, I've found this to be a wonderful exception. It's stripped down to being pure survival, no BS, and the visuals have been beautiful. I've found other titles like This War of Mine to be great as well. Rust isn't too bad either.

[–] PMYA [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

This War Of Mine was great but I can't play it. It's too sad.

I stole someone's food and they died. Now I'm too guilty to carry on.

[–] jobes 1 points (+1|-0)

Fuck yeah The Long Dark. That gave a fresh breath of air to the survival genre...because it's actually about literally surviving. Great game with a great atmosphere.

Lately I've been playing FTL: Faster Than Light, FEZ and LISA

Edit: I also recommend the thalos principle if you like puzzle games

[–] PMYA [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

Is LISA good? I almost got it a while ago.

FTL is god tier.

[–] jobes 1 points (+1|-0)

Lisa is weird as shit, but good. Very interesting take on the turn based RPG. SADDAD

I've been getting into Earth Defense Force 4.1 lately. I never played the originals, but damn it's good fun. It reminds me something of a house of the dead or other dreamcast/ps area fighting games, but you fight giant bugs and robots and such. It's been really fun and different than most games I play.

I've also been playing some Mario Adventure (it's a smb3 rom hack and really good), some GTA:SA, and Switch N' Shoot.

[–] PMYA [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

I saw a stream of Earth Defense a while ago and really wanted to get it, but my potato can't handle it. It is completely over the top and I love the scale of it too. Anything with a fully destructible world is a game worth playing.

[–] jobes 0 points (+0|-0)

I forgot to mention Subnautica. Waiting for the next VR headsets to release before getting back into it though. Amazing fucking atmosphere in that game...literally scarier than Amnesia.
