edit: first comment said the label mismatched for them. I don't think it's tasteless crap however because with proper seasoning it was really pretty enjoyable.
Proper cooking and seasoning always makes a difference with any meat. I make Crock-Pot pulled pork with either cut (just depends on which one I can find and price) and it always comes out delicious.
I recently (about a month ago) dug up and used my crockpot for the first time in about two years. I'll have to revisit. With two kids I'm all about home cooked meals and it doesn't take much work. thanks for reminding me. Going to plan a few crockpot meals
They're both shoulder cuts, just different sections. The butt is around the shoulder blade while the picnic is more of the leg.
