Information is power, knowing is better than not knowing.

I do wonder about the accuracy of these calorie counts though.

I think it's great if places choose to do it. Even prior to the mandate some low calorie items had counts on menus. I dislike when government forces business in this way.

I refuse to believe the government lies telling me a bloomin onion has more calories than one should consume in a day. It's an onion for goodness sake.

But seriously, you can't trust the average person to make that determination. I had someone tell me the other day just how healthy chicken wings were when he wanted to order them as an appetizer. Deep fried sauce covered anything is bad for you, but he was saying "good protein"! Ugh

Sadly you are right. Some people are beyond help. Still, it isn't our tax money's place to teach them otherwise.
