The only thing negative that I've read about him, not that I've read a whole lot, is something about mining the rain forest.

I don't consider myself an environmentalist wackjob, but I do feel we need to approach such things cautiously.

I've not heard that, but it's definitely a good thing to bring up. Brazil has a lot more issues than rain forest preservation right now though.

I agree.

It looks like there might a little meat to the claim, but after reading this it seems like much of it is butt hurt over him wanting out of the Paris Accord.

I skimmed the article and I agree that it seems mostly butt hurt. The Paris accord is just another form of global governance that does not address the true problem of global polluters - China and India. They get a free pass while taxing every other country involved

The main problem in brazil is corruption, not communism, socialism, far right, consrvative or whatever political rethoric anyone is spouting. It's Just plain old widespread corruption!

That's true. I'm not avoiding visiting my friend in Rio because of socialism. I have had enough problems being detained in Mexico and having to bribe my way out of it. I'm assuming Brazil is worse.
