If 'typical' vacation or road trip means 'just like a petrol vehicle' then of course not. Battery tech and infrastructure has a way to go yet. Of course that has nothing to do with electric vehicles being 'sub par' in general. On balance I'd say they're already a better proposition than petrol vehicles, and of course they'll only get better.

unless those are giant parking lots with charging stations and large mini-malls, I don't see people traveling and using those. hours to charge = less room to charge for everyone else, so it could be people pushing cars to chargers if one is actually available.
