There's a couple reasons for this.

  1. comments sections are a pain in the ass, moderating them and dealing with complaints/emails is one thing a lot of companies either can't afford to or don't want to deal with.

  2. Offering a competing narrative on their own platform again and again makes their lazy made up journalism look bad.
