If they're flirting with war now, what has the last 5 years been?

Russia: I'm thinking of coming over.

Ukraine: oh yeah? Rawr.

Russia: uwu

They should just settle it by Putin and the Ukrainian president jousting while riding bears.

I'd say the last few years has been Russia giving Ukraine the ol' doe eyes from across the room, with Ukraine not really feelin' it.

Now its more like Russia making innuendo about the size of its dick, while Ukraine giggles and tries to pretend like Russia isn't already totally in.

Russia: I can't wait to be all up in you

Ukriane: I can already feel it...

It's arguably been internal thus far in eastern Ukraine. There's plenty of arguments that the anti-government fighters are pro-Russian and being backed by Russia, but I don't have a strong enough knowledge to have much of an opinion on that.

Now, though, Russia has made that step big enough (as if the Crimea situation wasn't) to justify a proper retaliation by Ukraine. Thing is, if Ukraine full out declares war on Russia then Russia will have no reason to stop when they hit Ukraine's western border and fully annex Ukraine. That's my opinion on that matter.

For me it looks like a desperate attempt of postponing/influencing the spring presidential election, TBH.

I just hope other nations don't get involved. This is the kind of thing that sparks much larger conflicts. :(
