I've been doing some research on Reddit clones. Honestly, there really aren't a lot of good ones out there. Voat is probably the best one in terms of how the site is built, and as for the best community I can't really find any that have a decent level of activity.

As far as the general look of the site, Snapzu is probably the best one. It has a light theme that is not blinding, and is easy enough to navigate. I don't like the automatic drop down of text on the posts though. Frizbee comes in a close second. Look familiar to anyone?

PiRoot is full of shit non-content, but it has a couple of nice features, like post tags and the ability to sort posts by "vote strength", which I assume filters content that has a ton of downvotes. I can't tell because there are literally no votes on posts.

By far the most interesting is atob. It is a "real time textboard". Essentially, when you make a thread it makes a chatroom kind of thing instead of having a comments section, which is quite a nice concept.

So how does Phuks compare?

In my opinion, it is considerably better even in its alpha state than basically all of the Reddit clones. The only thing I would suggest is making dark mode the default, rather than light mode, as I am yet to find a single example of a clone that does that. Also let's face it, light mode looks awful.

Phuks already has all of the basic features that it needs, in my opinion, and is probably the best clone aside from Voat. It just doesn't have that thing that sets it apart from the crowd yet.

This is also something on your end. Albums open in one click using Chrome.
