Newspaper alleges Saudi officials tried to delete the recordings by incorrectly guessing Khashoggi’s watch PIN , then later using the journalist’s finger. However, Apple Watches do not have a fingerprint ID unlock function like iPhones.

Even so, taking the devices would have at least added a layer of "trail covering" since they would have had to get access to the online account without any evidence that the phone was on him.

So the real questions are: how is it that:

This newspaper had the resources to determine all this (including fingerprint dusting)
This newspaper can do what appears to be real journalism but US newspapers are still a joke?

As far as we know, this newspaper is just a mouthpiece for the Turkish government. No evidence of journalistic investigation.
