sli.mg seems to be really broken this time and that is basically the only image host. Should I just re-host and re-post,or wait it out?
We had several of those. But the biggest problem is that image hosts lose money, so they are basically charity. In time the person who created and hosts them loses energy and motivation and stops paying for hosting.

This might be a good idea. There were tons of subs on Voat that had their content completely wiped the first time slimgur went down.
A bot that commented on new image posts with an imgur link or something would eradicate the problem. Or at least make it far less likely for all the images to disappear.

I wonder if we should get a rehosting bot to not have all our eggs in one basket.
