sli.mg seems to be really broken this time and that is basically the only image host. Should I just re-host and re-post,or wait it out?

There's potential if you set it up right. It could be a stock image site (agreed upon by uploading). And considering it was a top 900 site in the US, it's likely that someone would see value in it somewhere.

We had several of those. But the biggest problem is that image hosts lose money, so they are basically charity. In time the person who created and hosts them loses energy and motivation and stops paying for hosting.
