While I don't necessarily agree, I see where he's coming from. It doesn't cite any sources and reads more as a blog post than it does an article.

But that shouldn't matter. Ann Coulter is well known, and she's reporting on something current that people wouldn't necessarily have known otherwise. It's news.

Cites a bunch of sources

Members of Congress pass laws to stop child trafficking -- and then the ACLU comes in and creates a gigantic incentive to engage in child trafficking.

The parents are so broken up about being separated from "their" children that hundreds of them have gone home without them. Reams of articles hysterically claimed that the evil Trump administration tricked these super-involved parents into signing forms they couldn't understand!

-- "Migrant parents were misled into waiving rights to family reunification, ACLU tells court" -- The Washington Post, July 26 2018

-- "Immigrant Parents Unwittingly Signed Away Right to Reunite With Children, Lawyers Say" -- Huffington Post, 07/25/2018

-- "'Why Did You Leave Me?' The Migrant Children Left Behind as Parents Are Deported'" -- The New York Times, July 27, 2018

Those aren't sources, they aren't backing up any of her claims. She's actually saying that those articles are full of shit for trying to put the blame on the Trump administration.

Unless I'm misinterpreting them, and they are actually reporting on what Coulter is saying?

Such good parents https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/06/child-migrants-surge-unaccompanied-central-america/

70,000 will show up alone... That number includes toddlers. Only a scammer uses a child as a bargaining chip. Shit people. No not all of their people. Just the shit people doing this shit. It's like rewarding the guy that breaks into your house and steals your tv.

It's a blog post. I'd call it an editorial, but she wrote it on her own self-titled website. That's what blog posts are.

As @Mattvision argued, there's also no sources--but that's actually irrelevant. This isn't news, it's an opinion piece. News brings new information, that's why it's called "news"; It tells us something we didn't know before. Creating news requires seeking out new information, it can require research of parameters of that new information, and it certainly requires verification of that information.

Creating conclusions based on talking points isn't news, it's editorial. Articles written for other institutions are editorials; articles written for your own are blog posts.

Calling you out @unruly

Justify this tag

I have nothing to do with that sub and this question isn't a comment on the moderation or your stance but would you have felt ok with Editorial as a tag? I'm not even sure if it's a good fit for the article(I haven't read yet) but just throwing it out there.

Honestly I read it and it's a political blog, I have nothing against Anne she's very funny on a podcast I listen to but she's straight up politics.
