Damn that guy was brutal. I wonder how fucked up his head was after the war. 500 kills...I wonder what that does to a man.

Not to detract from the effects, but I know that snipers/pilots are affected differently than a soldier used to close quarters combat. With such a distance you can't see the graphic detail. Your'e more removed from the situation than say a tunnel rat in Nam or anyone tasked with clearing a trench in WW1.

That makes sense. Almost comparable to military drone operators. To them its almost like a video game. Much different than putting a hole into somebody's face from 30m then rushing up and stabbing them.

Damn we are some brutal monkeys, aren't we?

War never changes. Regardless if it's sticks and stones or military drones.

I think that's what's truly terrifying about Nuclear weapons. Personally murdering 250,000 people by hand versus pressing a button. There's no immediate impact of your actions in the latter. They're just numbers and statistics compared to individual faces and grotesque horrors.

I would actully think when you reach that number it means nothing. 1-2 is probably shocking. 3-10 is thrilling. And after that it is routine.
