I've been doing them recently and it's been making my day so much more productive. It's just a simple 20 minute nap with an alarm and I feel refreshed afterwards.
I sleep for 20 minutes. If I sleep for over an hour, I'd feel horrible. But when I feel tired, I just quickly set a 20 minute timer and take a break. Almost always works.
EDIT: I think it has to do with sleep cycles or some weird thing. If you ever dream in your naps, they're being done wrong.

My naps are a minimum of 1 hour and it totally fucks up the rest of my day. I try to avoid them, but with a baby that refuses to sleep, naps are unavailable.
