I nuked my account (same name) a few days after the outage, before your exchange with Putt. In my personal experience, the atmosphere felt like a unhealthy change. I lurk from time to time to see how it's going, and I'm fairly certain I will not sign back up.

Seeing Putt's response to your post, and his unwillingness to comment to the community felt disappointing at best. Especially after hearing from the elsusive samsquantch, A.K.A. Atko. I was the first to respond to both his posts on preview, which kinda felt like winning the lottery twice in a row, or finding two four leaf clovers side by side.

When I created my account last April, funds were getting tight around there. I made a post asking what everyone wanted to see available in the store, and listed all the different types of merch that other goats would like. When I PMed Putt trying to work out how to go forward without stepping all over their IP and trademarks, he seemed interested. I mentioned I could create/use a third party company that would sell the goods, and donate profits to the site to keep users donations anonymous.

I mentioned establishing NDAs and other legal documents to protect both Voat and it's users. After that discussion though, he just seemed to lose interest or maybe just got bogged down with more pressing things.

I brought it up again when the credit card processor dropped their account and he had to move to bitcoin donations only, but after a few exchanges, he either lost interest or became too busy again.

All good things must come to an end someday I guess. It was time for me to move on.
