I'd be fine with requiring knowledge of the Constitution, specifically the first 3 articles and the Bill of Rights. I'm not sure our elected officials even know those parts sometimes.

But you have to know cursive to read the constitution and bill of rights! A lot of schools don't teach that anymore.

You mean like a literacy test? The South tried that for awhile until Congress decided it was discrimination and discouraged minorities from registering to vote.
