He's a political cartoonist who has already had a lot of anti-Trump cartoons "killed." Apparently he can't or won't deliver what his employer expects of him.
He's been drawing a lot of anti-Trump cartoons, yet when he gets fired he and his friends and fans scream "We need his voice!" because, you know, most of Hollywood and more than half the media trashing Trump every single day just isn't enough.

Logic tells me this was not likely the case lets look at the facts:
Breaking this down
Then we get to this tidbit:
So what I pieced together is that paper was probably trying to cut costs because it is likely they're not doing so great financially, the cartoonist who's lazy work isn't really making them any more money than they would without him still wants to get paid the same amount even though the value of his product has sharply declined in value for the company. The company attempting to do the right thing offers him a new contract at what is likely a reasonable price instead of outright replacing him for someone much cheaper or picking up a nationally syndicated cartoonist. Stupid overestimates his value/leverage and makes some bullshit up so he can play victim and now attempting to get ma$$ $ympathy by pandering to the sentiment of the majority the mainstream media while positioning himself as an underdog.
