You're argument has the same lack of validity as those made against seat belts. The speed limits are set for specific reasons, not randomly. Drive the speed limt.

Except red light cameras have increased the amount of accidents. I fail to see how my argument can be compared to the argument for not wearing a seatbelt.

The accidents are the result of drivers who ignore the traffic rules. If a person is mentally incapable of following rules so simple as those for driving, then that person should buy a bus pass or meet a new pool of friends: their local Uber drivers.

1) not all accidents are the result of someone ignoring the traffic rules. Many times it's the person slamming on their brakes because the light is yellow (clear the intersection) and they don't want to trip the camera so the person behind them has to also slam on their brakes. All it takes is someone having a slower reaction time to trigger a wreck.

2) Not everywhere has public transport or Uber available. Those are pretty much confined to urban and suburban areas.
