Utter bollocks. Market forces already push data centers to regions with renewable energy without any intervention from regulators. The handful of data centers in places with pricey energy are there for latency needs and are not going to have any plausible effects on Earth's climate. This article and its premise is trash.

Market forces push them to the cheapest, most resource-efficient energy sources. Away from the renewables.

You might want to go read up on this stuff before forming an opinion. There is a reason that data centers tend to be built near hydropower generating stations. For example, the total cost for power near a dam is something like $0.03 per KW/h. The price for the coal plant by my house is $0.17 per KW/h.
