I can understand why they'd do this, pressure from external sources and so on.

However, why should the medium itself be punished for the actions of one individual?

If someone gets up on a soapbox and yells "fire", you don't blame the soapbox, you blame the guy who said "fire". Shouldn't that principle be applied here?

So, wait... you can understand why you'd punish a lot of other someones who didn't commit a crime??? There's nothing to understand about it. It's wrong, ethically, morally, and in anything that wouldn't involve a computer also completely illegal.
