This is ridiculous. They're so far away from actually making Androids that are convincing. It's like saying because kids abuse those robot dog/cat/other animal toys, they're of course going to cross reference that treatment to a living animal.
Granted there are people with mental illnesses that may actually do such a thing, but a normal person would not, and the person with the illness will likely do whatever they end up doing anyway.
I'm not pretending to be able to see the future on this once Androids are so good that you can't tell the difference.... But we're so far away from that as far as I can tell. And I'm sorry, but even when they are that good, as long as the person knows it's an Android, is still not the same. Just as you have to work for something to really appreciate it, a programmed experience isn't going to be as thrilling as the real thing.
