To elaborate, some people just want to have problems or an excuse to whine. Give them a solution and they will come up with every excuse possible why the solution won't work and then complain instead of doing something about their issue.

A hungry person will get off their ass and attempt to look for food before starving to death. If it's a rare event when someone is flustered and upset then that happens. When it's pathological then you've got an emotional vampire on your hands. These people work to elicit pity from others b/c they're narcissistic, self involved, and lazy attention whores. They repeat this behavior constantly to manipulate others into doing shit and fixing problems in their life they don't want to deal with. Often if you try and bring up any of your own troubles to empathize with them you'll notice a pattern where they frequently try to "one up you" steering the conversation to being about them again. Why do they do this? Because it's often worked in the past as a means to getting what they want without doing anything.

It's why checking your privilege and ranking victimhood is so hot right now. It's easier to bully and manipulate others to get what you want. Children need to get back to saying please, thank you, yes sir, and yes mam. I figure adults that were never taught basic manners are already a lost cause. These "arbitrary social constructs" as some folks would call them existed for a reason. It's time basic civility and self respect made a come back.
