Yep, I don't have one or experience with them, they're expensive, but it looks like that's the path to follow if you'll capture audio.

That's what it's looking like. Which is a whole other Avenue of research to go down.
But now I can't help but wonder, what is the modern function of an audio card?

IDK, maybe there are internal audio cards with the same quality/functionality of audio interfaces, but having something external looks more logical to me. Built in audio is enough to listen to music, use a microphone, but for music.. I saw a video on yt comparing 2 audio interfaces, one was a Behringer and the other I can't recall, starts with A and it's not Arturia. Well, you could notice the difference even watching the YT video.

I was planning on including an internal audio card. But it seems like the audio interface takes care of those functions.
