No idea how common those wait times are, but that is only one way and some times are significant.

I guess it might not bother some, but I would not do that.

Ciudad Juarez has a population of 1.3 million, they have to have big box stores.

I would be surprised if prices are better in US than in Mexico, but then again, we subsidize a lot of food so maybe food is cheaper here than in MX.

I could only find one source on the subject, and it is from 2016, but it looks like they have a high sales tax on non food items, 11 to 16%. It also states the food is cheaper and of better quality.

It even says there is even a market for people to shop for other people.

It is somewhat insane that given the lower incomes of Mexicans that their daily needs are also more expensive. Mexico needs to get their shit together.
