This stinginess really couldn't have saved them that much money. Sure, ingredients cost money, but I'm sure their profit margin is large, so sales volume matters far more than cost. But it sure does leave a bad taste in the mouths of cutomers.

Undoubtedly some MBA exec got a fat bonus for the maybe $30 million a year savings in ingredients that this saves while they ignore the lasting harm done to the brand (but this is much more difficult to measure and won't impact that phuker's bonus). I for one make mental note anytime a company makes a move like this and accordingly don't give them future business.

On Friday, Mondelez, which owns Cadbury, said Dairy Milk bars containing 30% less sugar would go on sale from next year after the government challenged the food industry to cut sugar levels.

Don't do this. It's supposed to have sugar. When I eat chocolate, I know it's not healthy, so I don't eat a ton of it. Sugar belongs in things like chocolate and ice cream. What is obnoxious is how sugar is added into absolutely everything else that doesn't need sugar (e.g. pasta sauce, juice, salad dressing, bread). That is where sugar should be reduced.

Eh fuckem. Their chocolate bar shape was a novelty and it was never that good to begin w/. THen they fucked over their base fans by launching a scam. I hope they go out of business. Lobby to change the laws so Americans get decent chocolate and not this meme garbage. This is actually a thing.
