A single family. This is more likely an accident or crack in policy or an overzealous ICE agent. If it were the administration or policy, there would be far far more. While this is an issue to that particular family, it's a non-issue in terms of this smear piece.

And.... it's been over a year. Why hasn't the parents come and bugged ICE for their kid? Did they just kind of forget? If it were my kid, I'd be quite violent to anyone who'd try to separate me from him/her and I wouldn't quit until I had them back. Has the child been held this entire time because it did something wrong? "No, pops, you can't have your kid."

The reason they still have the child is because the mother was released, and disappeared, abandoning the child.
They would give the child back if they could find the runaway parents.

1 child cannot be reunified at this time because the parent’s location has been unknown for more than a year.

That's kind of my point. If I were a far right person, I might recall when Trump said "They're not sending their best." Well, I can recall it anyway. At this point, I think perhaps it's better that they don't reunite them and that maybe the kid should just be given citizenship and adopted out to a foster family selected by high standards.
