As a compulsive upvoter, I've struggled with this dilemma. I often have to remind myself that upvoting everyone means upvoting no-one.

You're just getting some love from the downvote fairy. Just ignore them. I get a feeling of Schadenfreude when I see it. There's been a couple sensitive and fragile types around recently, but they'll get over their hurt if you just ignore them.
