The mere hint of his decision to move the embassy in the future set off alarm bells around the Middle East, raising the prospect of violence.

Meh; no real downside. Jihadists would just find something else to murder civilians over. No point allowing them to dictate our foreign policy.

I'm also confused why they call it a break in US policy, considering that this move was scheduled to happen 20 years ago. Trump is simply the first president to not renew the 6-month waiver.

Because once you implement the policy it makes the US position utterly bias and impossible to ever moderate in the conflict anymore... "Donny the dealmaker" just magically vanished his seat at the negotiation/moderation table and ignited yet another crisis in the middle east ....

No it' is absolutely fucking not! This remark is about as ignorant as saying "Kim has nukes that can reach US, there should be nothing destabilizing about that"...... I have no time or lust to explain the complex fucking history and insanely precarious situation that Jerusalem and the fucking peaceprocess are.
This whole impulsive action by "Dodgy Donny" is pure symbolism, it is intent, it is showing ones cards in advance, undermining the ongoing decades long fucking peaceprocess and has infuriated both friends and foes alike. This ludacrous action has seriously damaged US foreign policy and US's standing on the world stage. Watch tension rise at US army/airbases and embassies in the middle east, watch the leaders in muslim countries point towards US ... watch the US being disregarded for any further peace talks under Trump as it has shown to be pure bias and reckless.....
