We have to deal with this issue and if content is in the grey area, we are going to remove it upon request.

This will result in some serious concern trolling.

After this post there will most likely be "users" testing this line and hoping we remove their content in order to claim censorship on Voat. This is just how things like this work. Don't fall for this Voat. It would be simply incredible if we just worked together on this instead of the typical shit storm posts like this usually generate.

This is exactly what happened to me on /s/soapdoxbanhammer :(

Recently I saw a post on there that was blatantly trying to pish that line of making threats. It had something to do with a black guy raping a chick. I don't honestly remember the story. But, the post said things like "it's time to step up Voat" and talked about taking action. Very clearly teetered the line on calls to violence.

I can totally see this kind of stuff causing problems for Voat. These kind of post's are probably shit stirrers trying to get them shutdown, but who knows, they could be real crazy people.

Either way, plenty of the content on Voat has been balancing on the edge of being illegal in the US, and it is bound to catch up with them sooner or later.

So it's not time to step up?

I'm just saying that the post could easily be seen as a call to violence.

Is it time to step up? I don't know. In that situation, I think the fact that the suspect was already in custody means it probably wasn't time to "step up." But I have a minor amount of faith that justice will be served by the courts. Who honestly knows? I don't have all the answers. But my point still stands that a post like that is a great way to get a site shutdown.

I think the context in which we need to step up is drawing more attention to the disproportionate amount of crime that comes from the black community. Society needs to stop ignoring the facts in the name of political correctness. Before we can truly deal with the problem we need everyone to admit what the problem is.

That goes for black Americans too, I'm not going to lump them all in with the idiots committing these crimes. However even the victims, those stuck in neighbors plagued by crime, don't help police when needed, and make excuses for their community.

Edit:

ProTip: I decided to post this before anything legal would prevent me from doing so. I have a feeling I know where this is going to lead.

I've also updated the canary to reflect this as well (this may be the last time that little guy gets an update, we will just have to wait and see).

That is quite the edit by Putt. Sounds like things are getting pretty serious over there. Quite likely the ones making those borderline threatening posts are glowing.

Oh look at PIA in the sidebar. They sponsor quite a few sites now. ;)

The irony.

Speaking of irony I often wonder if some signals agency has ever set up a privacy focused company or even a popular extension like NoScript or Adblock.

A month or two ago someone totally doxed some lib and Puttitout was like "well I like free speech but I don't like this". I commented that it actually is in the voat rules not to dox lol.

I hope it gets taken offline honestly, too much fake news and no way to handle, plus you really can't disagree with the hive and maintain ccp to post. We will see what happens.
