I can't think of a better place to put this, but I wanted to share that I am home again.

The ride home was torture and I am in an exceptional amount of pain. Ow!

Fortunately, I have an RN on duty and I have liquid dilaudid for breakthrough pain. Unfortunately, I get to pick my dosage (to some extent) and I opted for a minimal dose. It is a long story but let's just say that addiction is a major concern and I keep my dosing to a very minimal amount. (0.5 mg dilaudid by IV.)

The tale of how I managed to break my femur is not as exciting or glamorous as yours. At the ripe old age of 13, some friends and I gathered at our richest friends house to play laser tag and consume copious amounts of soda. During a heated battle, I slipped on some wet grass and fell down a hill. It wasn't even a steep hill, I suspect it could be classified as a large mound. That's literally it. I was running down a small hill, slipped, and broke my femur.

That seems like an exceptionally rare event, if we factor in youth and severity of the impact.

So, there's that!

We aren't even sure where, in all the accident, I broke mine. It is my left femur and I was a passenger.

I would suspect it has to do with being old and decrepit.

Probably. I've put sixty hard years on this body.

I was (and still am) exceptionally low in the vitamin D department. I get lots of Sun but that is a common problem in Maine - though I guess it is more pronounced in the winter.

Dunno? The driver walked away with bruising and some lacerations.
