I can't think of a better place to put this, but I wanted to share that I am home again.

The ride home was torture and I am in an exceptional amount of pain. Ow!

Fortunately, I have an RN on duty and I have liquid dilaudid for breakthrough pain. Unfortunately, I get to pick my dosage (to some extent) and I opted for a minimal dose. It is a long story but let's just say that addiction is a major concern and I keep my dosing to a very minimal amount. (0.5 mg dilaudid by IV.)

Glad to see you are alive! I broke my femur when I was a teenager and it was hell. I can only imagine what's like being an old fart with a broken leg.

It is fucking horrible.

I not only broke the strongest bone in my body, I broke it at the strongest point.

I ain't scared of a few xrays. I kept all the xrays and the screws from my experience with breaking my femur and I used them for a presentation in school. Lol

Those are permanent and the metal goes down further than is indicated in the x-ray. There are a couple more screws that aren't in the image.

Ol' Buddha got himself some new hardware!

Mine was done in a horrific car accident (I was not the driver) that started off at very significant speeds. We left a trail of debris that reminded me of the pictures of plane crashes. We went though a telephone pole and two trees that I know of. By the time we were done, there was pretty much nothing left except the passenger compartment. There was no nose, trunk, undercarriage, etc... Just the passenger compartment and even that was twisted up pretty bad.

It is in impound (the driver was shitfaced) but I am hoping to get pictures. We shall see...

How'd you break your femur?
