Just looking for a qualification and trying to place the genre, as I don't think we use this term in NL. (or I missed it) But when I was younger we had "Gabber" and I'm guessing a lot of the current "Hardstyle DJ's" are Dutch.

Some examples: (Picked some Dutch language ones for lolz but these where all in Top-40 and well known with a lot of airplay at that time)

Just trying to find the genre, Armand van Helden, Tiesto, Hardwell that kind of stuff, I'm guessing?

@Mercuenomia Please offer me some advice so I can sleep again at night!!

Looks like you might be right Bou :) Never heard the 'gabber' before, when I was clubbing in the 90's we called this style of music 'hardcore'. But yeah @Mercuenomia might be able to expand on this more.

I'm wondering if they still do oldskool "Hakken". Guessing the bald heads and "Australian" TM tracksuits are out though.

Hell if I know bruh. I got into this when I was coding my ass off for The Ideal Reserve a few years ago and did a random youtube search for techno and tits or hacker music or something to get into it after I ran out of shows and movies to watch on DVR which didn't take that long.

Think this was the first thing I came across. Didn't sound like any techno I'd ever heard of: https://youtu.be/fOolrcK-yys

I have no idea what the exact qualification is, but there sounds like a bigger emphasis on melody. I like melody most, so works for me.

Stuff's great for coding and trading.
