A guy I know that runs a tree removal business said in the last month 15 people called him to set up interviews and not a single one showed up, even though they called him. Another guy I talked to offered double pay to one guy who response 'maybe in September when my benefits run out'.

This is exactly what socialism and UBI gets you. People won't work because it financially makes sense not to. The price of goods and services (if you can get them) goes up. People pay more but it doesn't go back into anything to put a stop to this problem - it goes into companys' pockets or their costs. It turns into a spiral and you get (eventually) hyperinflation. This eventually leads to people who won't work still having nothing, the middle class is completely destroyed, and the upper class just keep on making what they were making or more.

i agree that its bad policy but "It destroys every single country it's implement in" seems like quite the hyperbole. Europe does, in fact, still exist. they have their own politico-socio-economic issues and i'd much rather live in the US and preferably a more free market US but destroy? oh please.

We're having similar issues finding crew members for landscaping. Right now our only requirements are having a valid driver's license and being willing to work. We're trying to avoid the day laborer market but we may have to start recruiting from there.
