The title, while accurate, is a bit misleading.
Saying 'faster than the speed of sound' makes it sound fast. But it's growing at around 1.4 x the speed of sound, on a galactic scale that is kinda slow.

The more interesting part of the article, to me, was this:

In the Milky Way's case, this relatively gradual growth will be swamped in about 4 billion years by a dramatic event: a . The two spirals will merge to form the "Milkdromeda" mega-galaxy, astronomers say.

'Galactic car crash will result in a super-galaxy'
That would have been a better and more accurate title I think.

Clickbait titles - LOL - they all are. And speed kills, there used to be PSAs in the US that said so, so there's that!
