To clarify, I'm asking about memories of pets that have died.

EDIT: I is good at grammars.

"What are your favorite memories of passed pets?"

My now dead dog once ate a whole package of soy crayons and had colorful shit for days.

I had a dog that went blind due to cataracts, a scottish terrier mix. Fucker still loved playing fetch. You'd show him the object (pine cones were his favorite) and let him sniff it, tell him fetch, then throw it. He heard it leave your hand and listened for it to hit, then he'd go running off and find it. He was never good at giving it BACK, but he loved going to get it.

His favorite pasttime, though, was hunting moles. We had a garden that, in early spring and late fall, usually had a piece of wood or something lying on top of the ground. I'd talk about getting a mole and he'd get excited and follow me. We'd walk in and I'd start lifting it up. He'd be in there as quick as he could.

A mole would run out, he'd grab it and fling it into the air. He'd hunt it down again, grab it and fling it. When it stopped running, he chomped and ate it.

He liked to run, too. Unfortunately we always had a boat or something in the yard. I can remember him running full tilt into the side of the shed or a trailer tongue. A god-awful bang and yelp, he'd bounce back, then trot along as if nothing happened.

I miss that dog. :(

I also had a cat. He was the kitten of another cat we had. From his litter, we kept 3 cats (brothers) and he was the runt. When the next litter came along, he continued to nurse on his mother.

His one brother ran off and never came back, and the other died after he was stepped on--he had a bad habit of laying on the steps in the dark. His mother was given away or taken to the humane society because too many kittens, and all the other kittens were given away. Only he remained.

He was the runt and he was not a good fighter. He regularly got his ass beat. He had a bad hip, his jowls were huge and hard, and his meow was more of an annoying monotone croak. He on one occasion had a wound that didn't heal up on his side and flies laid their eggs in it, yeilding maggots. We had to flush out the wound really good, pick out all the maggots, and cover it--he survived, as he always did somehow.

This cat refused to use a litter box. He loved to piss in the house, and piss on all the neighbors property. He only wanted milk, never drank water, so this meant he always had diarrhea. Sometimes he would shit in the house as well.

But I was his favorite. If I was sitting in the chair, he was on my lap. If I was laying on the couch, he was laying on top of me. Our means of affection was head bumps, which I've never seen another cat enjoy.

ANYWAY, my favorite memory of him was that he had this spot on his back right next to his tail. Almost all cats have this spot, of course, but his reaction was special. If you rubbed it rapidly he would kind of moan, which was weird with his special voice, and lick the air. If you kept going, eventually he would kind of lose his mind for a second, reach around and start doing it himself and he would end up "peeing". I don't really think it was urine, but... yeah. Cat orgasm, probably.

Given these two accounts, an important note was that both of these animals grew up together. They were best friends. The dog didn't like other cats, the cat didn't like other dogs. They slept together on the same bed. They groomed each other. They ate from the same bowl. Best of friends.

When I was 7 my parents got me a puppy for my birthday. We brought it home, and left it alone in the living room on its own for about 30 seconds. My dad opened the door, and it had taken a massive sloppy shit behind the door. We had cream carpets, and he smeared a huge arch of dog shit all across the carpet when the door opened.

It may have been the hardest I had laughed up until that point in my life.

While playing in the yard when we where little, my brother once told me to "go long" So I went loooonnngggg! I swear snuffles flew over 30 meters and I had to make a diving catch over the hedge of the neighbor but I caught him.
