Watch out for careers. I'm too lazy to find sources, but women with a dancing career (balet, jazz, tap, erotic, etc) do have the biggest divorce rates, even when you exclude stripper
Edit: I married a balerina and dated a stripper and both were toxic in that same way
Mt first significant relationship was with a girl that was very chill. I didn't know what I had until the next one was an attention whore. I learned quick that there was no fixing that. Whatever they have or get, they will just find something new to be the center of attention.
Always avoided that type from then on. I've watched so many good people get sucked in by that behavior, and it confuses me. I think you're right that many men are draw to it by some naive belief that they can help.
