Dry socks.

I used to work in food production. Where they would constantly spray ingredients into drains with a hose. They never provided temps with boots and so I constantly had soaking wet feet which was all the more unpleasant due to 13+ hour shifts and no chairs to sit on. I actually started to develop trench foot at one point.

Walking multiple kilometers today is so much more pleasant with dry socks.

I'm grateful to be alive. Considering there are times in the distant past I seriously considered killing myself I think that's pretty good.

I've actually been trying to say out loud something I'm grateful for every day. At first it was very hard but I have to choose between multiple things now. I have forgotten to do it lately, I'm grateful for the reminder. I heard about it from a famous footballer here in Australia who said it was part of an exercise that helped him overcome depression. I think I beat that black dog off years ago, but I have still found it is a huge help.

You should read about 'select agents'.

I'll do that but I'm trying to stay away from as much processed and man-made shit as possible. I've even started eating some of the local weeds after reading some of your posts a while back.

My wife, my son, my meditation practice, my chance to live in a region I always wanted to.

5 minutes ago? Toilet paper. Waxing philosophical i'd say everything. Perhaps even bad times are precious in the end when there's no more time to be had.

Not outsourcing my Thanksgiving toasts to an internet forum.

The fact that I was able to avoid the drug addiction and the vicious circles that come with it. I had good examples of what NOT to do and some reasonable examples of what TO do. I'm not in the best position I could be in, but I'm far from the worst. I'm married to a good woman (everybody's got their issues), I've got a healthy daughter (even if she is sick at the moment), we have basic needs and well beyond. I can dwell on the negative all day, and sometimes I do, but honestly it's first world problems.
